It was the first Torradovirus described from non-tomato host and, contrary to whitefly-transmitted tomato torradoviruses, aphids are its natural vectors (Verbeek et al. 2017). In October 2019, a symptomatic lettuce (JG3, cv. "Tregoney") was collected in an open field in southwestern France. Symptoms included stunted and deformed leaves with light necrosis and yellow spotting along minor veins of older leaves. Double-stranded RNAs were purified from JG3 leaves as described (Marais et al. 2018) and a cDNA library prepared and analyzed by Illumina NovaSeq sequencing. Epoxiconazole is a 14α-demethylation inhibitor (DMI) with excellent control on rice blast; to date, no resistant isolates have been observed in the field. Four mutants resistant to epoxiconazole were generated from three parental isolates via fungicide adaptation. Resistance was stable after 10 weekly consecutive transfers on fungicide-free medium. Three parameters, including growth rate, sporulation in vitro, and aggressiveness, were significantly lower for mutants compared with their parental isolates, with the exception of the low-resistance isolate. Sporulation and aggressiveness were negatively correlated with effective concentration values for 50% inhibition of mycelial growth for parental isolates and mutants (P less then 0.05). Cross-resistance was found between epoxiconazole and prochloraz (ρ = 0.863, P = 0.000) or difenoconazole (ρ = 0.861, P = 0.000). The resistance factor for mutants was positively correlated with the relative expression of MoCYP51A in epoxiconazole treatment (r = 0.977, P = 0.02). In addition, two putative amino acid substitutions in MoCYP51A were found in two resistant mutants Y126F in the high-resistance mutant and I125L in the low-resistance mutant. Mutation Y126F reduced the affinity of MoCYP51A with epoxiconazole, whereas I125L was not in the binding pocket of epoxiconazole. No amino acid change or overexpression in MoCYP51B was found in any of the mutants studied. To our knowledge, this is the first study to report DMI resistance observed in M. oryzae. A literature search was conducted in 7 medical databases. Two investigators assessed literature quality independently and collected data. The primary outcome was the incidence of VAP. Secondary outcomes included 16 measures. Sensitivity analysis and subgroup and meta-regression analyses were performed to analyze the source of heterogeneity. values &lt;0.05 were considered statistically significant, and CIs were set at 95%. A random-effects model was set when &lt;50%, otherwise a fixed-effects model was used.
A total of 20 randomized controlled studies with a total of 2428 patients were analyzed. Pooled results showed positive effects of probiotics on the reduction of VAP incidence (risk ratio [RR] = 0.672; &lt; 0.001; = 11.3%), length of ICU stay (WMD = -1.417; = 0.012; = 90.7%), oropharyngeal (RR = 0.866; = 0.031; = 12.4%) and gastric (RR = 0.645; &lt; 0.001; = 30.2%) colonization.

To perform a complete review of the imaging findings and biopsy methods in a nationwide RAASB cohort.
RAASB patients were identified from a national cancer registry and additional patients were included from our hospital. All available information from imaging (mammogram [MGR], ultrasound [US], magnetic resonance imaging [MRI], and computed tomography [CT]) and biopsies was reviewed. The sensitivity of imaging and biopsy methods for detection of RAASB was calculated.
Fifty-eight patients with RAASB were found. Fourteen MGR, 30 US, 24 MRI, and 25 CT studies were available for evaluation. The sensitivity of MGR, US, MRI, and CT for detection of RAASB was 43%, 50%, 92%, and 84%, respectively. Superior sensitivity was demonstrated for punch biopsy (84%) and incisional biopsy (93%) compared to fine-needle aspiration cytology (0%) and core needle biopsy (18%).
MRI and CT have comparable sensitivity for detection of RAASB, while MGR and US are unreliable. However, negative findings in MRI or CT must be interpreted with caution. Punch biopsy and incisional biopsy are the preferred biopsy methods.
